New York State Medicaid providers face significant changes to the enrollment and revalidation process. The New York State Department of Health (DOH) announced a new, phased revalidation initiative requiring all enrolled Medicaid providers to complete revalidation by June 2028 using the online New York State Medicaid Provider Services Portal (PSP).
Additionally, effective July 1, 2026, paper provider maintenance transactions and new enrollment applications are no longer accepted, and providers must submit changes to their enrollment information electronically through the PSP.
The initiative follows a directive from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and is intended to strengthen program integrity and ensure that provider enrollment information remains accurate and up to date.
Enrollment & Revalidation – Online Submission Only
Enrollment and revalidations must now be completed electronically through the PSP.
Additionally, paper provider maintenance transactions are no longer accepted. Providers must use the PSP to submit updates such as address changes, affiliations, managing employee disclosures, and specialty changes.
When to Revalidate?
All enrolled Medicaid providers, including those participating in Medicaid managed care, must complete revalidation when notified by DOH. The process will be implemented in phases, with notification schedules based on provider categories and risk classifications.
Providers will receive revalidation notices by email and regular mail and will generally have 123 calendar days from the initial notification to complete the process. Failure to revalidate by the applicable deadline may result in termination of Medicaid enrollment.
